About the programme:
As traditional way of scientific communication and general publishing are undergoing changes unavoidably due to reasons that shape our life (technology), the libraries have to adapt these environments sensitively to win the customer requirements and styles of access. This is absolutely a challenge to LIS community. As a mission oriented science, LIS has to respond and reflect meaningfully to those demands posed by the ever changing landscapes and make it a subject of challenge, excitement and value addition. The programme aims at bringing hot topics which are puzzling the LIS community both in application and academia.

10.30 AM to 11.15 AM : Inaugural Session (Three University Librarians will be falicitating)

11.15 AM to 12. 30 PM : Core Session by Dr.Harish Chandra, Librarian, IIT-Madras (www.harishchandra.com) on "New Trends in Library and information Sciences".
12.30PM to 1.00 PM : Presentation by Mr. Shaji Jones, Head EBSCO India.
1.00 PM to 1.30 PM : Lunch
1.30 PM to 2.30 PM: Session by Mr. K. Ravindran, Former University Librarian, MG University and Advisor to DCSMAT Libraries on "New Technologies in Libraries".
2.30 PM to 3.30 PM: Session by Mr. M. Varghese, Head of Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kerala on "Reflections of LIS academics on new developments in Libraries". (Tentative)
3.30 PM to 4.30 PM: Session by Mr. Arun Kishore, Librarian, DCSMAT Pullikkanam on "Digital environments in academic libraries : problems and challenges".
